You can use your Chase card to pay for things orwithdraw cash outside the UK(cash withdrawal limits apply).

We don’t charge fees when you use your card abroad and we'll apply the current Mastercard exchange rate to any purchases you make in the local currency. Local banks may charge their own fees when you use one of their cash machines and you should make sure you understand what these are before making a withdrawal.You can use your numberless card to make free withdrawals at any Chase Bank ATM in the United States.

If you choose to pay in pound sterling, you'll get the rate that's set by themerchant you're buying from. Paying in the local currency can help you avoid conversion fees from merchants – so you could get a better deal.You canuse the currency converter under 'Manage card' in the Chase app, to see the current Mastercard exchange rate.

There's no need to tell us you'll be travelling, but we do recommend allowing location sharing in the app. You'll also need to check that payments abroad are switched on in the app. Here's how you can do this:

  • from your card, tap on on 'Manage card'
  • head to 'Card controls' and you'll see the 'Payments outside UK' option
  • from here, choose whether you want to switch off payments abroad, or leave it on

If you're planning a holiday to a restricted destination such as Cuba, please note that you won't be able to use your card or any other Chase services there.You can find out more aboutrestricted destinations.

When you spend abroad, you can still get 1% cashback on everyday purchases¹ with your Chase debit card online or in-store.

You can withdraw up to £500 a day from cash machines (whether in the UK or abroad). If travelling abroad, there is also a £1,500 limit on cash withdrawals from your Chase current account in any calendar month.
